Haha! My fiance was wishing me a Merry P!NK-MAS all weekend. I thought this was so cute because for me the day of the P!NK concert may as well have been Christmas morning. I usually stress myself into more grey hairs over what outfit to wear to important events, so you can image how much dye I was going to need after planning my look for the show. Well for once in my life I decided to say eff it and go with the flow with this one. I mean P!NK is a Covergirl now. Easy, Breezy, Beautiful was to be the style mantra for the night. Everything except the Fox t-shirt ( $5 at Plato’s Closet ) was stuff I already had in my closet. Those awesome teal suede shoes came home with me after a trip to a street market in LA last March. A really great score for $22 bucks! I have only worn them once so it was about time they made an appearance. Oh! Let me not forget the gems!
It is my belief that a great pair of shoes and some bad ass accessories can make an entire outfit rock. I found that vintage turquoise rhinestone bib necklace at a flea market in Memphis over three years ago for $4.00!!! It too needed to see the light of day because I’ve never found the right moment to wear it. Such a unique piece needs to be shown off! 🙂 The concert was A-MAZ-ING by the way. I screamed. I cried. Some weave fell out. People wanted to throw me off the balcony after all of the screeching. All in all it was a bucket list moment that was checked off with a big fat pink sharpie! Seriously a day I will never forget!!!!!
Lately I have been seeing all these JCPenny commercials where they are pulling a New Kids on The Block and calling themselves JCP. they show their $5 tees in comparison to other stores products that are more expensive. That is what Cheap Diva is all about so even though I usually have no desire to shop at JCP, I figured I would give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked through the doors expecting to see the normal grandma-ville but this is not at all what was before me. JCP has revamped their store into quite the little boutique. They even have a Sephora store now! I scored that adorable little black cropped jacket for $5!
How adorable is this little dainty eternity band? Thanks to Lauren Conrad I have been obsessed with simple stackable rings. I’m not sure if the stones are real, but its .925 sterling silver and it was only $12.99 with shipping!
I need another ring like I need a hole in my head, but I’m so in love with it that I’m going back for another one in a different color. Don’t worry I won’t be stingy. If your as in love with it as I am you can get one for yourself here 🙂 Happy Self-Spoiling!
It is a well known fact that I am often guilty of shopping for myself during Christmas time but to my credit, I have been looking for a trench coat like this for FOREVER! My sister is a stylist for HSN and they have an outlet store in Florida that is a must on the agenda whenever I visit. The stuff in there is ridiculously marked down and my sister gets an extra 30% because she’s an employee. I was pleasantly surprised to see that HSN is now carrying higher end fashion lines. The trench I scored is American Glamour by Badgley Mishcka.
The minute I saw it I knew that I wasn’t going to leave Florida without it, but I freaked out when I figured out what the price was.
HSN discounts things by the date on the tag, so this coat was something like 40% off and then another 30% with the Big Sis’ discount. I’m useless when it comes to math but in the end it ended up only costing me $17.oo bucks! For Badgley Mischka?? YES PLEASE!
It is a known fact with me that when I decide that I’m into a certain style I become borderline obsessive about it. My current fashion lust is stackable rings. All of those rings you see in the pic above I already had in my jewelry box but like any good OCD fashion stalker I decided that I had to have just one more.
How gorgeous is this dainty little ring I found on ETSY for $19.00! If your planning on stopping by Etsy be a doll and check out my shop while your at it! Its called LoveLaceCraftoure. Shameless plug I know 🙂
I have been driving myself batty trying to find a pair of colored jeans that wont cost me a zillion dollars. Like I have said before denim is something I am more than willing to drop a little cash for. However I’m not thinking the pastel color phase is one that is going to stay trendy for too long so I took to the cheaper challenge. After a few weeks search I was almost about to say eff it and buy the expensive jeans when I found these Minty Fresh Skinnies (not the brand just a pet name) at Ross for $14.99! Its kind of sad that I know this but Ross gets their shipments in on Mondays and Thursdays so that’s usually when I get my hands on the hard to find treasures. Oh and while I have you here check out this awesome ring that I bought from Haultelook.com
Not the silver one on the top. LOL that one is from Tiffany and is the product of a spoiled relationship. Hey just because its from an ex does’t mean I’m going to neglect it. I mean it wasn’t an engagement ring for goodness sake 🙂 Anyhoo I got the gold one on the bottom for $17.99 which really isn’t bad considering its sterling silver and then gold plated. I think I may go back and purchase the silver one. Happy Shopping!
Can you tell that tangerine has been my color obsession for my summer wardrobe? Both of these tops are super cute right? Great color, great fabric, great detail in the back…..
But there is one very big difference between them and I bet you can guess what I’m going to say. Actually let me back up. I bet you can’t tell which one was the more expensive. I’ll give you a second to ponder this one…………………..Ready? The one on the left was $7.99 at Ross. Of course.
The top on the right came from a boutique that will remain nameless because I actually really like their stuff and they have a good selection of things you normally can’t find anywhere else. Anyhoo…it was $34.99. I also bought a pair of earrings to go with it that were $16.99.
I actually would pay $16.99 for these all day long because they are great quality and I got about a million compliments on them. So for these two things with tax it I spent around $55 bucks. Challenge time! Let’s see if I can do a little better with $55 smacker-roos. Off to the shopping haven I call Ross! Lets start with the basics.
I am a sucker for a basic V-Neck white tee and at $4.99 I’m game. I still had more time and money so I kept going.
I love summer shorts that have a little bit more length to them so I’m not showing off my booty cheeks to random people. LOL. These guys were on clearance for $6.99. Off to the next!
Super cute black club shorts for $8.99? Yes please! As and amendment to my previous comment about booty showing, shorter shorts can be ok in the right occasions. Just as long as the cheeks are covered. Next…
I love the color and the flowy detail of this top and the fabric is pretty awesome too. At $8.99 I was still under budget so it’s upward and onward people!
You would not believe how friggin hard it is to find a basic pair of black flip flops that are not cheap plastic and don’t cost a zillion dollars. Let me tell you, these flippy-floppied we’re only $8.99 and are super comfy. So after ALL that the grand total came to around $49.00! Under budget! Yay! So for for a cool fifty it’s this….
Or this!
Happy bargain hunting! MAY THE SHOPPING GODS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR! 🙂
Sorry for the blurry picture. I was trying to take this while wrapping the fiance’s birthday presents in my closet. There is something I have noticed that every woman inherits when she gets the ring on her finger. That is the divine right to have the sole responsibility of buying her man all of his underwear, socks, gloves, ties, and anything else that a dude doesn’t want to bother to shop for. Not that I mind. I would rather buy him these things than see him looking like Al Bundy with holes in his under-roos. The fiance is a really tough guy to shop for because he doesn’t really ask for much, and when he does ask nine times out of ten it’s something difficult to find. Again, not that I mind. I never shy way from a good shopping challenge. This year a pair of nice leather driving gloves was on the birthday list. I knew I was in trouble when I heard this request because the fiance has big hands that won’t fit most gloves. Plus a good pair of men’s leather gloves can run you $60-$100.
After I rummaged through about 50 pairs of gloves and made quite the mess at TJMaxx I found these. They have cashmere lining on the inside and looked just big enough to fit the fiance’s paws. They were originally priced at $60.00, which I was willing to pay because to me even that was a steal. But nope $20.00 bucks is all I spent 🙂
How gorgeous is this 1940’s vintage necklace?!? The picture doesn’t even begin to do it justice. I’m a sucker for anything vintage and I love the grey-ish blue colors of the pearls. The last time the fiance and I went to visit his family in Louisiana I dragged him to the antique shops in town. He’s such a good egg 🙂 Anyhoo…we went into this little shop that had mostly furniture so I wasn’t expecting to find anything good. In the back of the store I found a case with a lot of jewelry that was mostly just meh…..then I the fiance spotted this goody. I just love him. Haha, ok I’ll stop being mushy. The the tag said $40 on the box but the lady was willing to give it to us for $15! I’m thinking well hells yea!!! That’s when these caught my eye…..
Instant love! While I was gushing over them the fiance pulled out his inner cheap divo and said “Can we get them both for $20?” Gawd he’s good (last one I swear). So we got both of these vintage pieces for a quick $20 bucks. But then………dun-dun-dun. I was trying them on with an outfit at home and I broke the fragile hinge that holds the dangley part of the earring. I was so crushed! I wasn’t sure if they could be fixed because they are so old and I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg to put them back together. But if there is one jeweler I trusted to take them to its my friend Ed Harris. Anytime I need ring sizing or any custom work I go to him 🙂 Not to mention he did my engagement ring along with quite a few other sparklers in my jewelry case. Sure enough his in house guy was able to fix them. They even shined them up!
I didn’t even know you could do that with vintage stuff! Thankx Ed! Click on his name about if you want to view his stuff!
I bet your wondering what I’m up to with that title. A few months ago I saw this dress at Ross for $20.00 and almost bought it. However at the time I didn’t really NEED a new cocktail dress so after a debate with my debit card I put it back. Then yesterday I was decided to go back to Ross to scout a few things for my upcoming engagement photo shoot. Low and behold I check out the clearance rack and see this dress again, but this time for only $14.00 bucks!!!
I wasn’t going to turn away from shopping fate so bought it. This is where it gets tricky. While we were in Louisiana the fiance bought me an amazing antique bib necklace that I wanted to wear for the shoot. The color of the dress compliments the necklace but the frill on the shoulder was just too much.
Never being the one to settle I busted out with my fabric scissors. Because of the fabric I had to be careful not to cut the actual dress so I cut just snipped along the stitch…..
And now……
It’s perfect for the necklace!!! Yay! I’ll have a separate post on the necklace along with the earrings we scored coming up in a minute 🙂 Oh and never fear…..I saved the frill in case I want to sew it back on again after the shoot.
