I have found my new obsession….FALSE LASHES! Actually I have pretty nice natural lashes so I never considered wearing the falsies until I started thinking about my wedding day makeup. You see I’m not too keen on waterproof mascara because it never seems to give me full look that I like, and it’s impossible to get off even with makeup remover. On my wedding day dramatic yet natural looking eyes are must. Thus let us begin the search for the perfect lashes.
First I tried these guys by Kiss (don’t remember the style #) but they were a little too heavy towards the outside. I have almond shaped eyed so they were a little too wingy. I still liked them but more for just going out than a special occasion like my wedding.
Next I went for the ARDELL 117’s. I liked these alot. I took this pic after a night out and they still looked pretty good even if it was 12:30 am.
Even though I liked them I wanted to look for something with a less defined line. LOL I know I’m a picky little princess sometimes. 🙂
I watched a few makeup tutorials on YouTube and a lot of the professionals seem to use MAC 36. I loved the look they gave once applied but I wasn’t going to drop $15.00 on these until I knew that they would look good on me. I googled their alternative and apparently the ARDEll Demi 120 lashes are pretty similar.
This afternoon I went to the to local beauty supply store and they were only $2.99 so I figured they were worth a shot. Then I sort of went on a lash buying binge.
In one of the lash tutorials I heard that there Ardell 103 lashes a are great for a dramatic night time look. But they are also short enough that they won’t achieve drag queen status.
These Almine number 4158 looked they would be good for a natural daytime look. Plus they were only $1.99! Being that they were so cheap it couldn’t hurt to buy just one more pair right? Haha, you see why I say this could be becoming a problem…..
One of my friends who is a makeup artist once said that the individual lashes look the most realistic. She said they take awhile to apply but I’m bored tonight so I think I’ll give it a shot. Hi, my name is R!LEY and I wear Spanx. Haha! Well actually New Years Eve will be my first time trying them out. If Lindsey Lohan can wear Spanx then I can too! Not that I admire Lindsey…. AT ALL. Just pointing out the fact that she’s small and still needs a little body squeezing on occasion. Believe it or not I fell in love with the first dress I tried on which never happens to me. The only problem is its white and has ruching so the way it drapes made my booty look a little sad. I swear I am the only Puerto Rican in the world that pretty much has no arse! I wanted a body shaper that would spruce up the booty and maybe hug my thighs a little but the name brand Spankx were $62.00. I didn’t even pay anywhere near that for the dress (post on that to come). Off to Ross!
Found these knock offs that made me feel like JLO for a measly $6.99! Ok maybe not exaclty JLO but I did feel more booty-liscious! In retail stores these cost $20.00! I love a great deal almost as much as I love my shoes…..ALMOST.

So if your loved ones are anything like mine they are IMPOSSIBLE to shop for! The fiance is the type of dude that never really asks for much because when he wants something he just buys it. Which is fine until the holidays are around and I’m stuck scratching my head. But as with any man, cologne is always a safe bet. Much like underwear and socks once they get into a relationship they no longer buy these things for themselves. I actually got this Versace cologne for his birthday in November but I figured I’d share it for the ladies in my same Christmas shopping dilemma. I originally bought it for him for Christmas last year and now he’s stuck on it. He actually smells really yummy when he wears it so I don’t mind buying it again. 🙂 Especially with the deal I got! In the department store this size bottle is $57.00. But I found it at Gordman’s for $29.99!!
The last bottle lasted him a over a year too! Hope your Christmas shopping doesn’t cause any wrinkles this year. I’m sure I’ll sprout one or too!
This is my sanctuary! Otherwise known as my closet. 🙂 Yes, I color coordinate my shoes. Don’t Judge! My fiance gets a kick out the fact that he will often find me in there just being peaceful. There is something so soothing about my shoes. Haha! So every year the station holds our annual Jingle Jam concert. This is one of my favorite events so I tend to stress about the outfit I’m going to wear. To be honest this year it just sort of crept up on me and I was searching for something at the last minute. I thought let me save a little time and money and see what goodies I have in my closet that I can throw together. I wanted to wear red this year but I have nothing red but a button up farmer looking shirt. But I did have those fabulous shoes I got in Florida. I also remembered the cute cream colored mini I wore for my birthday dinner. That was a good start! Off to the mall to find a top. I went into Charlotte Russe to scout their clearance rack. This time of year the have a lot of goodies for cheap. I picked up a red shirt with cut-out shoulders that was marked down to $10! I tried it on and it made me look really skinny. When I got to the register the lady informed me that this was the last day of a promotion going on that you get a free piece of jewelry with every purchase. SCORE! I picked up some gold bracelets that I knew would go with some earrings and a purse that I already had.
Voilà!!!! My fiance kept telling me all night how friggin hot I looked. Music to my cheap ears!!! All it took was quick gander through my closet and a measly $10 bucks and I was feeling like Kim Kardashian! Well without all the drama of course! Plus Nick Carter like it too! 🙂
Good thing I didn’t tell him that I used to sing his songs to my mirror using a hairbrush in place of a microphone. He might have though me strange 🙂
I’ve been a naughty little girl this year. I confess I bought more than just shoes when I was in Florida last weekend. I know I should be shopping for Christmas gifts but I’m a true sucker for a good steal. Growing up in the sunshine state I never had to buy sweaters so I have this weird phobia about buying them. However they are SUPER cheap in the F-L-A. I bought this Billabong sweater at Ross. Check how much it goes for retail…
Now feast your eyes upon the price I payed for it….
I went to Florida over the weekend for one of my best friends’ baby shower and I never visit Florida without stopping by the HSN outlet store. I’ve shown you the goodies that I’ve scored there before. I went into the store will the full intention of buying Christmas presents when I happened to wander over to the shoe section. I was juat an innocent bystander when these guys just jumped up and bit me! 🙂 They are by a brand called Hot in Hollywood. My mom said they looked like a hooker heel but in my eyes the higher the heel the better! Then I looked at the price and though ooooohhhh nooooooo! Not around Christmas time.
The thing is, the HSN outlet store gives you the original price and then they have signs that post the discount percentage based upon the date it was put on the shelf. These were 40% off but that still made then $40 bucks. However my mom reminded me that this particular weekend they had additional markdowns taken out the counter because its so close to Christmas. I figured it was worth it hold onto them for a minute. I should know better than to hang around a clearance shoe section because two seconds later I found these.
Aye! These are the kind of shoe that make me get all Carey Bradshaw! “Hellllllooooooo lover!!!” I am obsessed with the detail on the heel!
And who knew Mariah Carey had a shoe line….
So I thought ok, ok let me just look at see what they originally cost. By this time I had been sucked in and I knew I was getting at least one pair of them. So I took a look see….
Same price as the other ones which I knew was going to make it tough on me to pick just one. Usually if one costs more than the other is an easy fix. So we get the the register and Haaaaaaaaaaallelujah! They had both been marked down to $13.42!!!!
Yeeeaaaa budddy! MINE! My mom got an AWESOME pair of purple ostrich pumps that I was drooling over but its not sexy to be greedy 🙂
I’m sitting in the Atlanta airport on a layover. Lord I hate layovers. Its like putting a kid in a really long line before an awesome ride. This weekend is one of my bestie’s baby shower and I cannot wait to give her and her bump a hug. I really don’t have too many close friends left in Florida but Casey is one of my nearest and dearest. Its so crazy how fast these last six years living away from home have gone. Its like poof, in the blink of an eye were no longer twenty-somethings. Were getting married…and having BABIES! But I am so truly happy to see my oldest friends becoming settled and content in life. I know they feel the same for me because they were around when I was the crazy 19 year old club rat. Lol. I’m getting the oil changed on Jasmine this morning (yes I named my mustang) and I figured what better a time for a bloggity-blog. If I’m honest I’m trying to drown out some of the conversations going on in here. Waiting rooms are perfect for people watching but I guess I’m not in the mood this morning. I’ve been thinking a lot lately. About my family and how much I miss them. A few of us are estranged right now and it really sucks. They say in times like these to just say your sorry and do whatever it takes to put things back together. I am a true believer in we are never promised tomorrow. Well the “I’m sorrys” have been said and have accomplished nothing. Its so crazy how many blessing have been tossed my way this year so I try not to dwell on the one thing that is missing. But that’s a difficult thing to do when that one things is one of your nearest and dearest. We went to the fiance’s sister’s house for Thanksgiving and it was nice. Good food and lots of rest. But after a few unanswered text I really was sad. Now I know your thinking, a text? You can’t pick up the phone and call? Trust me if I thought there was any way the phone would get answered I would have called. With a text I know they will at least read it. Amongst all of these sad feelings I have a true sense of peace in this time in my life which is a rarity in my world. Its really weird how those kinds of feelings can coincide. I have everything I have ever wanted and sometimes I feel a little like Charlotte from Sex and the City. She was so scarred that something bad was going to happen to her because everything in her life was as close to perfect as possible. Mmmmm. Maybe I just discovered a point there. Not that I will ever think of having problems with my family is a blessing, but God always gives us challenges. The way we handle it often times determines the future. Something about this waiting room has me all philosophical LOL. Ew! I do believe the guy next to me just farted. A little comic release I guess. I better not smell that one damnit. Anyhoo….enough deep thoughts for now.
Sorry for the blurry picture. I was trying to take this while wrapping the fiance’s birthday presents in my closet. There is something I have noticed that every woman inherits when she gets the ring on her finger. That is the divine right to have the sole responsibility of buying her man all of his underwear, socks, gloves, ties, and anything else that a dude doesn’t want to bother to shop for. Not that I mind. I would rather buy him these things than see him looking like Al Bundy with holes in his under-roos. The fiance is a really tough guy to shop for because he doesn’t really ask for much, and when he does ask nine times out of ten it’s something difficult to find. Again, not that I mind. I never shy way from a good shopping challenge. This year a pair of nice leather driving gloves was on the birthday list. I knew I was in trouble when I heard this request because the fiance has big hands that won’t fit most gloves. Plus a good pair of men’s leather gloves can run you $60-$100.
After I rummaged through about 50 pairs of gloves and made quite the mess at TJMaxx I found these. They have cashmere lining on the inside and looked just big enough to fit the fiance’s paws. They were originally priced at $60.00, which I was willing to pay because to me even that was a steal. But nope $20.00 bucks is all I spent 🙂

I’m not really sure why that little random song just popped into my head while I was typing but you know how it is. Good deals get me giddy. I was in Kroger last night shopping for my usual $5.99 vibrating toothbrush when the fiance pointed out that I should just get a Sonicare. He has one and he swears by it. If I’m honest I have always secretly wanted one but did he really expect me to spend $80 on a toothbrush? Low and behold they were on sale for Kroger card members.
It was friggin $45.00 off! Ok then, if I’m ever going to get a Sonicare then now was the time. Yay for clean teeth!
